An emotionally powerful and intimate musical about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years, the show's unconventional structure consists of Cathy, the woman, telling her story backwards while Jamie, the man, tells his story chronologically; the two characters only meet once, at their wedding in the middle of the show.
Featuring a two-person cast, The Last Five Years is a great opportunity for actors with both range and stamina. This intimate musical is perfect for small theatre companies and black box venues.
Hi, I am a professional actor recently graduated from theatre school. I would like to record a couple of songs (namely Finishing the Hat, and If I Din't Believe In You) and upload them as part of my voice reel on my online casting portfolio. Could I ask for your guidance as to how to have copyright clearance for these particular songs only, for this particular purpose?
I see that we are able to license The Last Five Years for remote performance. The Remote Performance guide recommends having the students record themselves using accompaniment tracks. However, I do not see tracks available to purchase for this title. How should I go about doing this?
I am planning a show at a black box venue, and The Last Five Years is one of my all-time favorites and I would love to produce it. Is it possible to obtain a disc with the accompaniment for the performances and not just as rehearsal tracks?
