Inspiration

Disco Inferno is inspired by the classic German legend of Faust. In the legend, Faust sells his soul to the devil in exchange for knowledge and talent. In Disco Inferno, Jack Flash sells his soul in exchange for becoming a famous singer. The music of the piece draws from the canon of disco music that was popular in the 1970s.
