Information on using the manual

This Staging Manual has been prepared to document and preserve the original staging of the Broadway production of the Play. It is intended solely as a reference tool for authorized MTI licensees in connection with an approved production under a valid MTI Performance License, but only in those cases where the MTI licensee also has purchased the right to use this manual.

This manual is provided on a non-transferable basis. It may not be sold, shared, posted online, or otherwise made available to any third party. No portion of this manual may be reproduced, distributed, or adapted. The staging, choreography, and related creative elements described herein are protected works, and any use outside of Licensee’s production is strictly prohibited.

Upon conclusion of the licensed production, Licensee shall permanently delete all digital files of this manual and destroy any printed copies and shall not retain or archive any version in whole or in part.

By purchasing the Staging Manual, Licensee is authorized to substantially replicate (without exact duplication) only the production elements from the original Broadway production of the Play that are specifically described in this manual solely for the purpose of presenting its licensed production. Such replication must occur only within the scope of the approved production and may not be used to create derivative works, new productions, or adaptations outside the rights granted under the MTI Performance License.

Use of this manual requires the inclusion of additional credits in Licensee’s programs and advertising. Licensee must consult the billing section of its MTI Performance License to ensure that all required credits are properly given.

If physical elements such as sets, props, or costumes are created in connection with the licensed production, any subsequent sale, transfer, or disposal of those items conveys no rights to use those elements outside of Licensee’s production. The seller must clearly and expressly advise any buyer or recipient that no such rights in the copyrightable elements are conveyed as part of the transaction, and any use in buyer’s or recipient’s production requires a separate purchase of the Staging Manual from MTI, specifically for use with that production.

By using this manual, Licensee acknowledges and agrees that it is supplied “as is,” without warranty, and solely for the limited purpose of restaging the Play in accordance with the rights granted.
